Evan. Shortte and wife Cassandra established a women's community based organization called Initiative For Women's Empowerment (IFWE) meeting with women every Thursday evening in their basement. Through this organization women are trained in Home Economics skills: cooking and dressmaking. There is also an annual youth summer workshop.
The Shorttes are mentored by Pastor Richard and Jane Berry of Atlanta, Georgia. The Berrys are members of the Atlanta Navigators and founder of The Urban Disciple.
The future goal of the Pillar of Truth Ministries is to establish a vibrant church body that will be able to serve the community demonstrating the goodness of God.
